On May 31st, inner party leader Mr Brown made it clear that Parliament should be accountable to the people and transparent. On June it became clear that Mr Malik had not actually done anything wrong in the rate he paid for his flats, Mr Brown then made it clear that the report which came to this conclusion would not be published.
This is why I am winning my little friends.
You all sit there, complaining about how Parliament works and how it is not good enough, but this leads to no change, the same secretive party rules the nation.
Is this your fault, possibly... The systems fault? Definitely. It is far too easy for my inner party to keep things from you, and what can you do about it? Nothing much. The PM chooses when he wants to hold the election (within reason) and you have to go along with that.
The cabinet effectively rules the country, the (compartively to previous governmments) massive majority that Labour holds means that they do not have to listen to the opposition.
Ask yourself this, although something such as PR may lead to there being slow, sluggish progress in government, might it lead to a government that will be held a lot more accountable, because if they do not play by the rules, the opposition parties could effectively withdraw their support.
In British politics, sadly the opposition party nowadays plays little more of a role than holding the leading party to account, as they can not do much more than that because of the majority that inevitable comes out of an FPTP system.
Big Brother does not necessarily promote electoral reform, but he does believe that proper accountability and transparency that might arise from it could lead to some of Big Brother's powers being eroded.
Think my little proles, what can you do, what could you do and what will you do to stop me owning your life?

Welcome Proles. Politics is the lesson today.
Britain is losing all of it's civil liberties, we can no longer protest within a mile of our Parliament, we can be locked up under the terrorism acts for absurdities. But as in the novel, as long as the proles are kept entertained with their alcohol and their pornography (Wait, didn't one MP claim for a bottle of Gin? And the lovely Jacqui Smith claim for a porn film) all else will be ok.
However, it is now seeming like the people who created this state are going to be the ones who fall victim to it.
It has long been the case that Westminster has to some extent been shrouded in secrecy, this is completely against it's role to be a completely transparent body, however with things such as whistleblowers and Freedom of information requests, this slowly and slowly more dystopian Britain may recover.
As we have seen recently, the BNP have gained 2 seats in the European Parliament. Because of what? Labour no longer representing the Socialists? The Conservatives no longer representing the far right? Who knows. One thing is for sure, the BNP are, love them or hate them, throwing a line to the proletariat who are no longer represented by this "New Labour."
Ask yourself this, this is a tad farfetched and I am sure you will all disagree with me strongly. I personally loathe the BNP, so do not think I am trying to promote them at all. But maybe, they are not fascists, maybe they are actually communists. They have far left policies such as nationalisation. After all, when the Labour party compained so much about us being taken into the EU, wasn't the key reason that the immigration would be the issue because it would undercut British Worker's rights?
Racism is not a attribute that goes with any of the two wings, it is instead something which extremists adopt, in order to gain votes from people who feel rejected by the current system and need a scapegoat for their anger.
What are the options in this country today? Neither of the main parties will represent you more than the other, and in most seats your vote will count for nothing under First Past the Post. Maybe, just maybe, I am winnning my little proles... Unless of course you are in the inner party, in which case, you are winning, maybe more than even I would like.
